Narrative
Anita is a sculptural study of the female form, the desire it provokes, and the particular allure of women who openly want beautiful and expensive things. The piece explores materialism as part of attraction rather than a character flaw. Anita represents a woman whose taste, appetite, and sense of self are connected to what she owns and how she presents herself. She is desirable not despite wanting more, but partly because of the confidence and ambition behind that desire. Her curved silhouette and folded neckline reference the body and the construction of clothing, giving the vase the presence of a dressed figure. The form is intentionally suggestive without becoming literal, allowing Anita to sit between portrait, sculpture, and functional object. Produced through 3D printing, the visible surface lines remain part of the design. They contrast the softness of the female-inspired shape with the mechanical process used to create it. Anita can hold flowers, but she does not depend on them. She is designed to carry her own presence as an object of beauty, desire, and display.
